Reinterpretation of Mario Lasalandra's surreal performance "Magico"

A dedicated room staging the interplay of dreams and imagination through the lens of two artists. Mario Lasalandra's imaginary world of ‘il Magico’ and Irakli Nassidze's evocative installation, 'The Keys of Mystery.'

Mario Lasalandra, driven by a passion for cinema and a magical world made of beauty, craftsmanship, poetry, simple figures, and a surreal and evocative atmosphere, created  "il Magico" (2003-2013). This one day performance documented the transformation of San Felice sul Panaro, Italy, into a living fairytale. For eleven years, the community embraced Mario Lasalandra's vision, embodying his fantastical characters.

An exclusive original collection of marionettes and original drawings created by Lasalandra for "Magico" in San Felice sul Panaro are displayed.

Georgian artist Irakli Nassidzé, drawing inspiration from Lasalandra’s world, states: “The images conjured by Mario Lasalandra speak in a language found nowhere else. One must not only see them—one must feel them, listen to them as a distant melody unlocking invisible doors. A mysterious world without borders unfolds, where black and white secretly births color…if only one turns the key towards dreams.” Responding to these interwoven themes, Nassidze presents "The Keys of Mystery," a new installation featuring Rina Chernaya, offering a unique perspective on this dreamlike world.
