Bizet Didier
In 2015, after training at the Gobelins, Didier Bizet turned his attention to photography. He is drawn to the countries of the former Soviet bloc, where the melancholy of time and history can be faithfully photographed. As a documentary photographer, photography is for him a true apprenticeship in the world. “Photography gives me answers to my questions about societies past and present. It’s not just fun, it’s a necessary part of my life experience. The world around me evolves, modernizes, changes and surprises me. It’s the fragile, fast-moving world that interests me. Didier Bizet is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, with a degree in art history and a year’s study of Czech. He publishes his reports in the international press. In 2020, he won a Sony Award for his Baby Boom series, which has been published many times in France and abroad, and was screened at Visa pour l’image in 2020.
