Escaping Afghanistan
On August 15, 2021 the Taliban took power in Afghanistan and thousands of people, fearing for their lives, began fleeing the country in search of a safer life. Most of them after passing through Iran try to reach Turkey, home to the world's largest refugee population. For this long and tiring journey, migrants pay up to 1000 dollars per person to smugglers, who usually take them to Van, a small town in eastern Turkey.
