Thua Magalashvili is a photojournalist and documentary photographer based in New York, USA. Born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, she graduated from Caucasus University (MSc 2018); Ilia State University (Business Administration, 2010); Mikeladze Music College (Piano Department, 2007). Thua is a 2023 graduate from International Center of Photography (NY, USA), Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program where she was a recipient of the Director’s Fellowship award. She participated in several exhibitions such as "Lifelines", International Center of Photography, NY, 2013; She is a grantee of "Getty Images Creative Accelerator Program". Her photographs were published in "Then There Was Us AND 2023", UK; Cuban online platform El Estornudo, “Trump en Nueva York”, etc. She specializes primarily in portraiture, yet she also holds a deep passion for both still photography and street photography honing her skills in visual storytelling.
