Under The Shadow of Tyranny

Georgia is a country shaped by struggle—its geographical position has made resistance a constant. The photographs below capture the ongoing protests, a relentless fight against a regime that continues to pass laws infringing on human rights and freedoms. Today, March 14th, in just a few hours, I will head to the national broadcaster. Finally, students will be on air! Georgia must free itself from the lingering shadow of Soviet-era propaganda. We will build bridges with those misled by misinformation, standing firm in our belief that our future belongs solely in Europe.

Those taking to the streets are serving their country with true patriotism and integrity—nothing can stop this movement. I know these faces; they ignite a fire within me, guiding me back to resistance and courage. Imagine the whirlwind of energy, constantly shifting and transforming. What could be more powerful than that? This is the Georgia I love, forever.

Oto Kirakozashvili

Oto Kirakozashvili Born in 2001, I am currently a student at the conservatory, majoring in solo academic vocals. For me, art is more than expression—it’s humanity’s most potent weapon. It’s the tool we wield when words fall short, and it’s through my photography that I began to find new ways to speak. At a certain crossroads, I found myself questioning: opera or photography? I refused to choose. Today, music demands more of my time, but the lens never left my side. Both practices shape me as an artist. The intersection of these two disciplines has allowed me to explore the voice in its many forms—the voice I give to others and the one I give to myself. I see a future where I bring these two worlds together, forging something entirely new in the process.
