Sarcatvelo, Versuch die Leiter zu ersteigen

The series „Versuch, die Leiter zu besteigen“ („Trying to climb the ladder“) is a collection of free, intuitive works by the Belgian photographer Willi Filz. On several trips through Georgia, he was inspired by the motifs of everyday life, free from commissions, artistic constraints and without a concept - in search of a current and contemporary definition of travel photography. His personal view and feeling determine the choice of motifs, which can often be found far away from the main attractions - somewhere in the offside, in the everyday, in the incidental.
The images unfold an unexpected power. Between play, memory and death, inner connections open up between the motifs and the viewer.
