Paraklesis

Paraklesis
(conceptual series 2020-2023)
A paraklesis (from the Greek word meaning "supplication" or "encouragement") is a ritual of prayer in the Eastern Orthodox tradition.
A requiem of pandemic and post-pandemic sensations transformed into images and combined with a definition intended for the Paraklesis. This journey is saturated with the requests of people or the requests against themselves. In some cases it deviates from the general attitude that in the Eastern Christian doctrine emphasizes the importance of Paraklesis as a relationship with God, in the form of a request, with the expectation of future purification. This series, Paraklesis, is intended for travelers who have survived the requiem of pandemic and post-pandemic sensations.
A letter discovered in the basement of a home on Tsinamdzghvrishvili Street in Tbilisi serves as the backdrop for the photos of the series.
