OTRO AIRES

The economic crisis that has been affecting Argentina for over 30 years seems not to give relief to a country that is increasingly on its knees and has to face a very strong recession.
In Buenos Aires the Villas Miseria have become 34

Made up of a predominantly rural population, mostly coming from neighboring countries such as Bolivia and Paraguay in search of a better future, for over 50 years they have formed a belt along the center of the city and despite the various changes of governments there has never been any intervention that has managed to definitively eradicate a right to a dignified life.
Villa Soldati and Villa Lugano are 2 of the 34 that I have had the opportunity to get to know.
While everything flows as normal, Buenos Aires shows its double aspect: a city to show to tourists made of nightlife, elegant and melancholic tango bars and the other that of the cartoneros who increasingly crowd the streets of the capital and the Villas.

Aldo Feroce

Aldo Feroce, born in Rome1957. I started photography in 1976 at age 19 with a film camera and self-taught. I learned to print in the darkroom, developing film and printing in black and white. Subsequently, for about twenty years, I dedicated myself to wedding photography services until eight years ago I started dedicating myself to a different gender with intent to create something that could satisfy me on an emotional level. The passion shifts to current social and documentary themes. --- AWARDS PONCHIELLI AWARD 2023 Finalist "The Palace of crossed destinies" BARTUR PHOTO AWARD 2023 Finalist " Before night falls" KOLGA TIBLISI AWARD 2022 documentary story Winner "The Palace of crossed destinies" BARTUR PHOTO AWARD 2022 Face of Humanity second place "The Palace of crossed destinies" BIFOTO AWARD 2022 Winner "The Palace of crossed destinies" WORLD REPORT PHOTO 2022 finalist
