Supramonte is a mountain range located in central-eastern Sardinia - Italy - which is an almost totally uninhabited area of sharp limestone cliffs and deep, lush canyons. “Sos cuiles” are the ancient folds still present on the Supramonte heights that - from the years 50'-60 'of the twentieth century - the shepherds of Barbagia used as home and working place for the breeding of goats and pigs within one of the wildest territories in Europe. Supramonte was gradually abandoned by shepherds. Except that in some exceptional cases, there has been a generational change. It is not difficult to imagine the life of hard sacrifices that these men were leading in solitude.

Soldiers of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are engaged in defending their positions over the frontline, although in May 1994 an official ceasefire was signed. The ceasefire is regularly broken with casualties on both sides. The conflict started in 1988 and escalated into full-scale war when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. The conflict left 65,000 ethnic Armenians and 40,000 ethnic Azeris displaced.
 Clashes between the Azerbaijani and ethnic Armenian forces over the breakaway enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh last year were the worst violence the region has seen since the ethnic war over the territory ended in 1994. The border territory is now full of military camps and bases. In the capital Stepanakert a military academy substituted the traditional high-school. Male and female teenagers aged 13-18 are learning maths, history and english after physical exercises and marches.

Kaunas Central Post Office may be considered one of the key representative buildings of the interwar period in Lithuania. The post office was constructed in 1930-32 in a national modernism style. It is located in Laisves Aleja, the pedestrian street in the city. The building designed at the time does not only distinguish by the combination of elements of modernism and "national style" but also a rather luxurious interior. In Soviet times, the interior of the post office underwent certain modifications: the layout and the use of certain office spaces was changed. In september 2015 after years of neglect Kaunas Art Biennial Occupying five floors of the building with an international art exhibition.

Situated in the Old Count’s Chambers of Prague Castle, in the vicinity of the Golden Lane, the Prague Toy Museum is said to be the second largest museum of this kind in the world.

The Castle Guard is a specific unit of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic directly subordinate to the Military Office of the President of the Czech Republic. The Castle Guard service personnel are selected and recruited from the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, and, after the introduction of all-volunteer service, also through direct recruitment from the civilian sector based on specific criterions. The provision of external security and defence of facilities used by the President and his guests in the peacetime primarily involves performance of guarding duties in relation to defined structures, specifically safeguarding facilities against access by unauthorised persons and assigning forces and assets to defend them. In states of emergency resulting from non-military crises called in the Castle Guard’s area of territorial responsibility, or during the state of crisis following a military threat to the Czech Republic.

Every year the 11th of July a sea of coffins lined up for the funeral in the small, used to be forgotten at-the-end-of-the-road town called Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia. The international criminal court said the most terrible crimes of genocide on European soil since the Second World War were committed in Srebrenica area when the Bosnian Serb forces massacred more than 8000 of Muslims after the enclave, ironically under U.N. protection as a safe heaven, was overrun by an army led by its ruthless commander; General Ratko Mladic. On may 2011, after more than 15 years on the run Mladic was captured in a small village in Serbia and he joins Radovan Karadzic, his war-time president and another “butcher of Balkans”, in the Hague. Over 4.000 body bags are still in a cold store, waiting to be opened and checked by the experts of ICMP (International Commission of Missing Persons), whose mission is to complete the bodies and identify them.

Barbagia is a large mountainous area in the central-eastern part of Sardinia, the Italian island that has extraordinary nature. There are also many isolated villages where people still follow and respect ancient traditions. They live out mostly of sheep-farming and horse-breeding. In the village of Sedilo, every year, a hundred of the most daring and brave horse riders participate in a wild and unrestrained race: the S'ardia. They don't race for money or glory but to show their devotion to a warrior saint, Saint Constantine. Actually he is not a proper saint, according to the Vatican Church that never approved him; but he is to Sedilo’s people, who celebrate his deeds. Riders run down the hill at full gallop, pounding towards the narrow entrance below the Arc of Constantine at full speed amongst rifle shots and clouds of dust.
